Senecio is a large genus of daisy flowering plants belonging to the Asteraceae family. They present a variety of forms including leaf, stem and tuber succulents, annuals, perennials, aquatics, climbers, shrubs and small trees. Some species produce natural biocides as a defence mechanism against animals that would eat them.
